Study of the Cn2 Model through the New Dimensionless Temperature Structure Function near the Sea Surface in the South China Sea

The refractive index structure constant Cn2 near the ocean surface is an important parameter for studying atmospheric optical turbulence over ocean. measured and meteorological parameters, such as temperature three-dimensional wind speed, sea on South China Sea during period from January to November 2020 were analyzed. On basis of Monin–Obukhov similarity theory, dimensionless function fT was established, a new parameterized model near-sea proposed. improved error widely used proposed by Wyngaard in 1973 (W73) better reproduced daily variation Cn2. Further analysis seasonal applicability indicated that correlation coefficients between estimated spring, summer, autumn, winter 0.94, 0.95, 0.89, respectively, root mean square errors 0.32, 0.41, 0.46, 0.40 m−2/3, respectively. Compared with W73 model, coefficient micro-thermometer increased 0.05–0.27 decreased 0.04–0.56. demonstrated higher accuracy than existing models, which can lay foundation estimating parameters different areas.
